🌸 From Dim Sum to DIMSUMX

Growing up in Southern China, weekend dim sum wasn't just food — it was an unfolding story where every bite whispered tales of tradition, family, and the simple joys of being together.

I remember the bustling eateries, the clatter of porcelain teacups, and carts weaving through tables filled with steaming baskets. The fluffiness of Char Siu Bao, the delicate folds of Har Gow, and the comforting warmth of tea became synonymous with love, connection, and belonging.

As a child, I often joined my father at his business dim sum gatherings. Back then, I didn't realize he was doing more than sharing a meal — he was building GuanXi, relationships grounded in trust, generosity, and understanding.

Years later, after moving to the United States, I attended countless networking events and conferences. But something felt missing. The pace was fast, the connections were slow, and the conversations often felt transactional.

So, after the pandemic, I decided to reimagine what connection could look like — and host the kind of gathering I longed for. That's how DIMSUMX was born.

💛 The Birth of DIMSUMX

The first DIMSUMX event brought together data and analytics professionals — not in a conference room, but around a dim sum table. Instead of slides and presentations, we shared dumplings, laughter, and stories.

It reminded everyone that true community doesn't happen behind a screen or through a LinkedIn message — it happens when we sit down, share a meal, and see one another as humans first.

Over the past two years, we've hosted more than 30 DIMSUMX gatherings across the country — connecting people through conversations that nourish both the mind and the heart.
